Senior Editorial Strategist, Team Member Communications
Job DescriptionAt Whole Foods Market, we support and engage our Team Members through authentic, relatable, and connective stories, experiences, and technologies. As part of that effort, we are developing rich and engaging editorial that informs, inspires and motivates WFM Team Members and further connects them to our culture and our customers. We are seeking a senior editorial strategist to develop and drive multiplatform editorial that engages our 90,000 Team Member population. This role reports to the Director of Team Member Communications, Editorial Planning & Original Content, and will often work in close partnership with Whole Foods Market’s PR and External Communications team, as well as other stakeholders across the company.
Develop, write, edit and publish compelling multiplatform internal communications content, including feature stories, long-form stories, blogs and multi-chapter series.
Provide strategic editorial guidance and develop campaigns in support of major company initiatives.
Work closely with subject matter experts across the business to tell the story of WFM’s business while building awareness, understanding and excitement for what’s to come.
Collaborate with production teams to develop compelling video storytelling content.
Create clear, compelling and effective communications that help a variety of audiences understand complex issues.
Uncover and tell stories that elevate the Team Member experience and connect our workforce to our purpose, values and leadership principles.
Work closely with senior leadership to craft company-wide memos and announcements that build understanding, trust and confidence in the business.
Contribute to and help manage WFM’s Team Member Communications editorial calendar. Monitor editorial for feedback and measure effectiveness against KPIs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional writing and editing capabilities.
Passion for news and newsgathering.
Editor-level exceptional attention to detail.
Can manage and prioritize multiple activities and deadlines.
Creative, analytical and action-oriented, able to balance strategy and execution.
Knowledge of enterprise-grade communications/collaboration/productivity platforms.
Strong understanding of multimedia, video content and photography.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field or commensurate professional experience.
5 years of experience in internal and/or corporate communications.
