Job Description Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., in partnership with the Fauquier County Department of Economic Development facilitates workforce development, economic development, and learning opportunities and connections that empower individuals, organizations, and communities. Purpose of Position: The coordinator is responsible for business and industry outreach and support for organization and employer training. This role will coordinate employer training programs focusing on skills and technical training programs for incumbent employees of organizations. Coordinator is responsible for outreach, analysis of training needed, coordination of curriculum, instruction, and materials. Position will be responsive to the workforce development needs of prospects, including businesses who may be locating in Fauquier County for the first time. The coordinator will also be responsible for the programming open enrollment courses at the Fauquier campus and Vint Hill facility. These programs will effectively meet the diverse needs of the workforce, including displaced workers, incumbent workers, professional licensure renewal needs, and for individuals wishing to advance in their careers through upskilling. Position will conduct extensive needs assessments, program research, program development, program management and program analysis.u00a0 Required Skills Candidate should possess excellent project management skills and be able to direct multiple projects during a single time within a deadline driven environment. Superb Leadership and Communication skills will be required. Candidates should have past experience working in or with private industry and be very knowledgeable about the regional business and industry landscape and local economic development. Must contribute to the mission of WSCE being the local, reliable, and trusted partner for quality and relevant workforce training programs that meet the needs of employers and individuals in our community. The position will ensure the successful growth and diversity of workforce programs offered to Fauquier. They will be responsible for the continued maintenance and growth of programs. Position will be responsible for managing administrative and operational aspects of workforce development open enrollment programs in Fauquier. They will need to apply knowledge of general financial management principles and practices, human resources management, and budgetary principles. Position will be a liaison with other management, community resources, and programmatic staff to discuss recommendations or provide advice on workforce training, while identifying, executing, and implementing solutions. Needs Assessments - To be successful in building open enrollment workforce courses, the coordinator must be in constant contact with students, employers, and customers.u00a0 Coordinate needs assessments every semester per program category assigned. Coordinate scheduling of needs assessments with marketing manager as well as ensure marketing manager has the audience information needed to market effectively. To be successful, this position must be in constant contact with customers who have been most recently and frequently involved with LFCC programs. Communication occurs by mail surveys, focus groups, reviewing evaluations, phone calls and listening to front line staff about what they are hearing what customers want offered. The goal of this communication is to select new programs (or expand existing programs) and events that meet the needs of customers.u00a0 Program Analysis- selecting the most appropriate repeat programs and events; Analyze class data to select repeat programs and events by analyzing class enrollment numbers, revenue, operating margin, cancellation rates, and evaluation summaries in addition to weekly reports. Review course evaluations as each class ends and take appropriate quality improvement measures. Review all open enrollment programs to ensure unsuccessful programs are cut and successful programs are expanded. Maintain the daily and long range program success of Fauquier market; Conducting Research; Conduct market research and handle market data collection including extensive data collection on student/participant demographics and purchasing history for all students and employers. Research new program directions and spend the necessary time determining if the new direction is appropriate for their customers by reading, talking to other program professionals, reviewing other brochures/catalogs/promotions, modeling numbers. Existing Program Development; On a yearly basis, this position should be striving to add or expand 20-30 percent new programs. Coordinate with Fauquier Director on the new programs. Oversee program development which may include identifying curriculum, material preparation, instructor training or anything else that ensures the programs and events will be top quality. Duties include curriculum design, teacher recruitment, teacher training and evaluation. Determine course titles, instructors, fees, locations, times, and other logistics Determine prices, promotion expenses, production expenses and achieve financial objectives in terms of operating margins Delivery of quality programs measured by satisfaction of participants Daily operational responsibility of programming area. Development of programs for low skilled workers, underemployed, and returning veterans in the Fauquier market Economic and Workforce Development Initiatives; Communicate with and be present in business and industry for workforce training needs. This includes cultivating employer contacts and relationships, discussing training opportunities, and describing the services provided by LFCCu2019s Workforce Solutions unit and Fauquier DED.u00a0 Participates in meetings with economic development, professional organizations, chambers, and the business community leaders and professionals. Develop awareness and understanding of other workforce development agencies and services in region. Assist with organization and sustainability of a SWAT team (onestop services) in which workforce resources can be quickly leveraged and deployed to meet new or existing employer needs and requests. Dedicate time and resources to prospecting new client relationships. This includes research and identification of new employers, new industries, and new contacts to expose to workforce development training programs. Meet with new business prospects and prepare to analyze and understand their needs for further data and/or proposals from the county. Reach monthly goals in serving employers and students through training programs and initiating contact to employers to inform them of WSCE offerings. Assist the Fauquier WSCE Director in identifying instructors and curriculum to line up contract training. Assist with targeted Veterans programs aimed at developing the pathways and pipelines of a workforce in Fauquier County Recognize and identify potential partnerships and initiate contacts between groups to advance economic development and workforce initiatives Marketing research and student outreach; Coordinates with LFCC Workforce Marketing Lead, Business Development Lead, and internal partners to develop and provide marketing materials Attends regional events to present information about workforce programs and/or pass out literature on the program Develops effective presentation materials and works to arrange presentation opportunities Must have good written and oral communication skills Required Experience 4-year college degree or equivalent training/experience required Certified Professional Programmer recommended Significant industry experience Compensation and Benefits: Classified Positions: The minimum salary for the position is $43,892.00 per year, however, actual starting salary will commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is full time, classified and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies.
