Under the supervision of the PI, Dr. Hansel Tookes, the incumbent will work on various research studies in HIV and other infectious diseases. Primary duties and responsibilities among others will include: The Outreach Coordinator will be a Patient Navigator, tasked with recruiting PWID to the mobile exchange, supervising testing and providing case management to refer those who need HIV or HCV care to resources in their communities. As the IDEA Exchange grows via the mobile unit, this position will be responsible for both supervising the research activities of the mobile unit as well as making important local contacts with law enforcement, first responders, shelters, churches, AIDS service organizations, and health care providers. Will oversee the study recruitment and assessment activities of HIV/AIDS research projects within the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in support of the goals of the Infectious Diseases Research Unit. The Coordinator will also work with the Laboratory, Clinical, Developmental and Behavioral cores of the grant. The coordinator will be responsible for immediate oversight of research projects, scheduling participants, screening, enrollment and consenting participants. Ability to engage, establish and maintain a positive rapport with a diverse patient/participant population. Maintain effective lines of communication between the Community Engagement Manager and Project Director. Maintain pool of study candidates and ensure their availability. Obtain necessary medical records, schedule participant for pre-study screening, and maintain a study participant list. Maintains effective lines of communications with clients and prospective client to ensure adherence to program goals and objectives are met. Promotes to the targeted group services offered. Obtain informed consent documentation from research subjects prior to any study-related procedures, maintain patient screening enrollment logs, and follow randomization procedures per protocol, ensuring protection of patients' confidentiality and privacy during initial and follow up interviews and visits. Responsible for the distribution of educational literature pertaining to specified program. Researches and prepares reports, records and other documentation to coordinate and implement public and outreach program. May performs other duties as assigned.
