Want to help tell Boston University's story? Join the Public Relations Social Media team as the PR and Social Media Administrator. This position will collaborate with senior PR Social Media team members and will play an integral role in the development and execution of public relations efforts and social media campaigns. Duties will include: serve as a representative of the department and Boston University marketing and communications; oversee department communication channels and manage flow of department information; develop original content, such as drafting social media plans and posts, media advisories, pitches, blog posts, best practices and more; monitor social media messages and BU news for content sharing opportunities; develop and manage department awards program; manage flow of information including answering the main Public Relations office line as needed, oversee central Public Relations email account and direct flow to appropriate PR staff; serve as the day-to-day contact for the public relations office across campus and with external audiences.; collaborate with senior staff to identify and execute media and social media training and media opportunities as needed.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S. or equivalent in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field(s). Internship or related work experience in public relations, marketing, or similar areas. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Superior attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively. Possess an understanding of social media platforms. Knowledge of WordPress and design tools (Adobe Spark, Canva, Photoshop) a plus. Maturity and good judgment and an eagerness to learn.
