u003cpu003eWeu0026rsquo;re building a strong and dynamic Corporate Communications team to tell the story of Allegiant - a fast-growing, innovative company disrupting the travel industry with a business model thatu0026rsquo;s truly a departure from traditional airlines.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThe Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for helping promote and protect the companyu0026rsquo;s brand and reputation through strategic media, community relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives, company events and crisis communication, as part of the companyu0026rsquo;s public affairs team.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eUnder the guidance of the Director of Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist will help communicate Allegiantu0026rsquo;s vision to key media and influencers, ensure accurate corporate messages are conveyed internally and externally, and develop and support innovative strategies to boost the visibility of the company and its executive leadership. The position will also be integral to promoting the companyu0026rsquo;s position on key industry topics, to supporting its response to emerging issues and crises, and to developing and supporting its corporate social responsibility strategy and initiatives.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eThe Corporate Communications Specialist will work with Allegiant team members across functional units, interface with community and charitable organizations and work with news media, community organizations and officials in our hometown of Las Vegas, and in other markets that Allegiant serves.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eWe are seeking a talented, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, who can work with discretion and confidentiality to address multiple u0026ndash; and often competing u0026ndash; priorities under tight deadline.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eu0026nbsp;u003cstrongu003eWhat are some of the daily duties of a Corporate Communications Specialist?u003c/strongu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eEngage with journalists through media response (including regular on-call rotations), story pitching and regular dialogue; serve as a company spokespersonu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eWrite press releases, briefings and other materialsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eResearch, evaluate, distill and disseminate complicated company and industry information through press releases and interviews for media and the publicu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAssist in coordination of and participate in media interviewsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eHelp develop emergency communication procedures and resources; plan and participate in emergency exercisesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePlan and execute company events such as facility groundbreakings/grand openings and media toursu003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePrepare briefings for company executives in preparation for media interviews and eventsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eEngage with community stakeholders including chambers of commerce, convention bureaus and governmental entitiesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDevelop social media messaging and posts related to corporate communications initiativesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003ePrepare community presentations and background informationu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eResearch and seek out innovative opportunities to promote the company through media, public affairs, community relations campaigns and charitable partnershipsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate corporate charitable/community programsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eIdentify and evaluate corporate community engagement opportunitiesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eSupport all other corporate communications department functions as needed, including copywriting, research, proofreading and filingu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eTravel to events, meetings and conferences, as neededu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eTrack, compile and analyze company media coverage and produce reportsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain consistent and accurate files on all correspondence and datau003c/liu003enu003cliu003eu0026nbsp;Other duties as assignedu003cstrongu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eWhat are the qualifications to be a Corporate Communications Specialist?u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eCollege degree preferred with emphasis on communications, public relations, journalism or a related fieldu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eOutstanding written and oral communication skillsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMinimum 1-3 years of experience in media relations, public affairs, journalism or related industry environmentu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKnowledge of AP style guidelinesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to manage communication initiatives from inception to event to follow-up and the ability to communicate confidently to members of the media and the publicu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to work with people at all levels in the organization to strategize, develop and implement programsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to meet deadlines and handle multiple prioritiesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAbility to work outside of regular business hours as an on-call media responder and for company eventsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCreative, decisive, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eKnowledge of standard software tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and social media management software (ie: Hootsuite, Buffer); knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other photo editing and layout tools preferredu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust pass a ten (10) year background check and five (5) year pre-employment drug screenu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMust have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986u003cstrongu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eWhat are the physical requirements of a Corporate Communications Specialist?u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eSome travel is required.
