Clark University Director of Communications and Media Relations (199727) Marketing and Communications Full-time Clark University\u2019s Marketing and Communications Office seeks to fill the position of Director of Communications and Media Relations. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and analysis of integrated national and regional public relations programs that enhance the visibility and image of Clark University, position Clark at the center of global issues and gain recognition for its achievements and centers of excellence with the media, academia, alumni, donors, government and corporate institutions, and community leaders. This is a hands-on position with heavy writing and editing responsibility. It requires strong collaboration with others in Marketing and Communications as well as working closely with key stakeholders in the University\u2019s undergraduate and graduate schools, advancement and alumni affairs, faculty, research centers and institutes, and administration. Duties and Responsibilities: Included in a range of responsibilities, the Director of Communications and Media Relations will be responsible for University public relations, crisis communications, campus communications and rankings and college search site profiles and communications. The Director will help manage the University\u2019s national and regional media presence, budget for media relations and social media efforts related to Clark\u2019s academic and research profile. Specifically, the Director is responsible for: \u2022University public relations \u2022Crisis communications \u2022Campus communications \u2022Rankings and college search site profiles and communications The Director will help Clark manage: \u2022National and regional media presence \u2022Budget for media relations \u2022Social media efforts directly related to Clark\u2019s academic and research profile The Director will oversee: Concepting, researching, writing and distribution of Clark news to external and internal audiences; ideation and execution of initiatives that elevate Clark\u2019s reputation (events, polls, etc). Qualifications: \u2022The successful candidate will have a Bachelor\u2019s degree in marketing, communications, or journalism; 7 \u2013 10 years\u2019 related experience in PR, communications, publishing; experience in higher education preferred. \u2022Experienced people manager with strong project and budget management skills and ability to meet schedules and objectives; versatile; results-oriented. \u2022Proven contemporary media relations skills and experience, including analytics and leveraging social media and other emerging technologies. \u2022Demonstrated ability to advance institution\u2019s mission and profile through effective communication; strong competence in writing, editing, proofreading, and creative direction. \u2022Proven ability to build and foster relationships with strong verbal and written communications skills; talent to influence others, and work with people across a complex organization.
