Also implement and oversee creation of media materials together with second PR specialist on the team with full collaboration, and also supervise the contractor press fleet manager, who is charged with vehicle ordering and management of national press fleet and overall inventory management from ordering to disposal. Assist and support press activities and events that are essential for the national and regional promotion of Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, smart, and Mercedes\/Freightliner Vans. Responsibilities 1. Develop and oversee creation of Mercedes-Benz and all product media materials, including press releases (US-based and Daimler adaptions), specifications, photography, and overall content management of MB Media website (media.mbusa.com). Liaise with Daimler press colleagues daily\/weekly to ensure all media materials and all other projects are current and up-to-date. 2. Assist in the proactive and reactive promotion of Mercedes-Benz product and technical information to the media, with emphasis on specialized subjects AMG, Motorsports, and Vans subjects. Field inquiries on product and technical questions, provide on-site support at press introductions. Day to day support of other departmental specialist, press fleet contractor, and department manager as required. Develop and cultivate strong relationships with national media contacts focused on product and industry-related issues. 3. Oversee the contractor fleet manager for ordering all models and overall inventory management until disposal for national press fleet, including rotations to cities based on media priorities and weather patterns. Manage all budget and press fleet capacity planning around the country together with budget coordinator and press fleet contractor. Regarding press fleet orders\/configurations, also obtaining department manager and general manager approvals and liaising with product management and distribution on all fleet topics together with the contractor press fleet manager. 4. Serve as primary media relations contact regarding AMG, Motorsports, and Vans but also as backup for Mercedes-Benz cars\/SUV and smart whenever needed. Work with events agency and any departmental events to strategically develop messaging that also leads toward developing media events and pitches integral to promoting primary communications areas of AMG, Motorsports, and Vans. Qualifications Education 1. Bachelor\u2019s degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in some of the following: \u00b7 Business Administration \u00b7 Communications \u00b7 Engineering \u00b7 Marketing \u00b7 Journalism \u00b7 Public Relations 2. Written\/spoken German language skills are a plus but not a requirement Must have 5 -7 years (total) of experience in the following: 1. Public Relations experience: Knowledge of principles of effective and authentic. communications, mass media, social media, publicity, advertising, community relations 2. Event Planning: Knowledge of planning and developing events from inception to implementation, including budget preparations. 3. Vendor management: knowledge of agency\/vendor management and budget management; taking full responsibility for the performance of an agency and regular touch points to make sure they are aware of company strategies and directions as needed to perform effectively. 4. Administration: knowledge of administrative procedures, process\/project development, and system procedures. 5.
