Job Purpose The Marketing Advisor serves within the Practice Support Center as a content expert and advisor/liaison to association members, leaders and internal stakeholders related to all aspects of dental practice marketing areas of expertise including online marketing, social media, branding, direct marketing, new patient growth strategies and internal marketing strategies to ensure patient retention. Responsible for the development, education and response to member inquiries for practice related resources in the areas of external and internal marketing best practices for individual and group dental practices who are CDA members. Essential Functions – must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation Consultation Ensure expert consultation to member dentists regarding support and/or development of a dental practice in the areas of internal and external marketing best practices including overall marketing strategy, tactics and evaluation of marketing methods to determine ROI. Advice is offered via telephone, website (contents, blogs, bulletin board, etc.), written documents and in person. Assess current dental practice marketing efficiencies and procedures and provide recommendations and tools for improvement to ensure overall branding, patient retention and growth of the practice based on dental office goals and objectives. Serve as expert advisor and resource to internal CDA divisions and companies to accomplish CDA Practice Support objectives in alignment with CDA’s strategic plan. Provide outstanding member support to ensure consistency with CDA standards of excellence and to enhance perceived member value of PS programs/services. Actively engage in professional personal development; bring enthusiasm, passion and energy to the position. Trend Analysis With oversight from the Director, Practice Support, work to identify upcoming trends and emerging issues for development of member education/informational materials. Review, analyze, and provide recommendations and solutions for member educational materials and trainings based on monthly data of member calls and contacts. Education Research, develop and submit articles to be used in various newsletters including internal and external societies and associations. Assist in the development and delivery of educational offerings, including workshops and speaking at semi-annual CDA conferences. Responsible for course content and development. Non-Essential Functions Stay current on trends in dental practice marketing. Attend staff meetings, training, and other meetings as requested. Performs other duties as assigned Required Education, Licenses & Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field with minimum of three to five years of experience in advertising, marketing or communications in an advertising agency; dental marketing experience is preferred. Minimum of three years in a proven customer facing and advisory role. Extensive knowledge of dental specific subject matter including the ability to interpret and analyze dental practice management data to provide solutions and strategies around best practices for recommending marketing spend, increasing new patients and driving patient retention. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and external parties as necessary to accomplish job responsibilities. Proven experience in training and coaching clients on marketing tactics required. Must possess a strong customer-service orientation. Must be able to work collaboratively and in an open environment. Must be able to make effective and persuasive presentations and speeches on controversial and/or complex topics. Ability to produce quality written materials quickly and concisely, often with relatively minimal background material or research time. Sound decision-making and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Requires computer skills, including the ability to operate Windows/Microsoft Office Suite including Power Point. Preferred Education, Licenses & Experience Extensive knowledge of dental practice Key Performance Indicators. Knowledge of current Dental Practice Act and CA state law regarding advertising and solicitation practices for dental offices. Industry knowledge of dental practice regulatory compliance including understanding of Privacy/HIPAA regulations as it relates to dental practice marketing.
