We operate 60 retail stores and salons in 12 states across the country, headquartered in Kansas City. Our salons are sponsored by great brands like Redken, Babyliss, Living Proof, Moroccanoil and Murad and we carry over 60 salon-professional brands in our stores. We’re a team of committed, creative thinkers and problem solvers, dedicated to making a beautiful difference in the lives of all we touch.Who you are You are a passionate and skilled copywriter with a background writing for multiple mediums from direct mail catalogs and in-store signage to emails and digital touchpoints. You have an expert sense of brand voice and a particular passion for the hair and beauty industry. The successful candidate is ready to help Beauty Brands think big and execute exceptional brand experiences across print and digital platforms, as well as understanding the nuance in layering campaign voice with our brand voice. The Sr. Copywriter is responsible for conceptualization and implementation of copy solutions that meet our marketing strategies. You also possess a strong eye for detail and be able to critique others’ conceptual work.Position Summary: This position will report to the Creative Director and work closely with our in-house Creative and Marketing teams. Please include your online portfolio in your application.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Key Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with design partners to create innovative, fresh concepts for print and digital mediums that strategically deliver within the confines of the brandWrite clear, persuasive, original copyCraft expert-driven, yet approachable copy that brings concepts to lifeProofread and reviews others’ work to ensure copy tone is consistent with brand voice for consumer communicationsProofread and reviews their own copy to ensure adherence to strategic focus, brand tonality and proper grammarStays up to date with current trends in creative work produced within the advertising industryPrerequisites Qualifications:5 years’ experience writing for marketing and consumer communications in an agency or in-house creative departmentBachelor's degree in advertising, communications, journalism, English or related fieldStrong portfolio of writing with examples of both technical and creative workAbility to accept constructive critique and makes changes according to feedback delivered by internal partnersExceptional communications skills, both oral and writtenComputer proficiency is required in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrates a strong work ethic and a can-do attitudeAbility to manage multiple priorities at once and shift priorities seamlesslyHighly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up skillsUnderstanding of industry trends and best practices in AP style is a plusReports to:Creative Director
