Summary of Responsibilities
Â
Client Management
Proactively consult clients and implement new ways to meet their needs through a deep understanding of Ketchum\u2019s capabilities, with a focus on internal communications expertise
Deliver high quality written content, ability to draft, edit and provide feedback on all materials to ensure they are client ready (e.g. edit media releases, fact sheets, pitch notes, pitch emails, byline articles, client correspondence, press releases, pitches, media lists, blog posts, social media content and reports)
Manage account activities including client programming, internal communications, executive leadership opportunities, special events, employee communications research projects, social media, program implementation, and other duties as assigned
Support client teams within Ketchum on internal communications and employee engagement needs
Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with key clients by continuously adding value and anticipating and addressing their needs
Play a key role in developing and implementing internal communications programming
Build and leverage deep understanding of the clients\u2019 objectives and competitive environment to develop clear business cases around opportunities for employee engagement to deliver meaningful results and drive impact Â
Troubleshoot client problems as they arise, seeking senior management input when appropriate
Demonstrate advanced understanding and application of industry trends
Write strategic program recommendations and draft scopes to achieve clients\u2019 business goals
Manage junior talent (Intern to Account Executive) and projects to deliver the highest quality work on time and on budget, and provide timely progress reports anticipating issues
Be flexible and facilitate teamwork, working with multiple teams with different core capabilities
Demonstrate understanding and application of internal communications strategies, employee ambassador programs, emerging social media platforms, HR communications and change management
Business Development
Play an active role in the development of presentations for clients and new business opportunities
Coordinates new business for team/agency as appropriate by providing research information, preparation of materials and draft/format documents, and acting as a liaison between the design department and account team
Identify incremental opportunities and raise to your specialty leader
Contribute to thought leadership activities
Understand and is an active participant in the new business/pitching process
Actively participate in networking and seeking new business opportunities, including pitching, research, writing, and presenting
Continue to develop internal and external network of contacts for a competitive client advantage, new business, and talent attraction for agency
Talent
Take accountability for personal development and areas of career growth; actively participate in training for self-development
Recognize and celebrates other\u2019s successes and gives credit where credit is due
Drive effective implementation of projects, identify best and most diverse resources to meet exceed client expectations and delegate work appropriately
Communicate clear, progressive direction to junior staff. Day-to-day direction of junior-level team members including delegation, delivering formal/informal feedback, coaching and project management. Supports and engages in acquisition of junior talent
Foster a culture of fast feedback through timely and impactful dialogue about performance, while coaching and providing recognition
Demonstrate, develop and drive a culture of feedback, coaching and recognition

Leadership (Internal/External)
Participate in local office and agency activities and training sessions; motivate team members to do the same
Have a visible role within your specialty team, and local office
Develop programs and collaborate effectively, communicate clear progressive direction to junior staff
Share credit, actively involve and engage team
Build strong relationships, deal constructively with internal and external situations, and be a role model for outstanding client service
Empower and motivate junior team members/direct reports to be curious, brave, inspiring and force for good
Exhibit empathy and effective interpersonal relations to develop broad network of internal and external contacts
Financial Management
Maintain compliance with the agency\u2019s daily time entry and expense report policy
Utilize PO system effectively. Verify billing accuracy
Meet utilization goal and connect with manager if you have availability to work on other projects
Manage internal status of jobs and due dates, advise senior team members of developments
Take accountability for managing time commitments and time entry on a daily basis
Begin to operationalize accounts, ability to scope, manage client budgets, setting up an account, assess staff needs, fee estimates, out of pocket expenses, reporting etc.
Understand and manage agency\u2019s financial tracking tools
Qualifications
We\u2019re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include:
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field preferredÂ
5 - 7 years of experience in public relations agency or similar position; one year basic supervisory experience
