The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is the industry steward of Oregon\u2019s pioneering bottle deposit and redemption system. Through our BottleDrop Redemption Centers and partnerships with retailers, we collect redeemable containers, return deposits to Oregonians, and provide a high-quality source of recycled materials for manufacturers. We are a not-for-profit cooperative of Oregon beverage distribution companies. Our workforce of over 350 employees provides a fast, clean, and accountable system for Oregonians, and recycles billions of beverage containers every year. Oregon was the first state in the country to create a bottle deposit system. As of 2017 we were the first, again, to increase the deposit and in 2018, expanded the deposit system to include more containers than ever. As a result, OBRC is a national leader, and a growing company with a growing public profile. Every year we open new BottleDrop redemption center locations and roll out new programs to expand the benefits that Oregonians receive from the bottle deposit and redemption system. We have a fun and dynamic external relations team that works together to respond to the daily needs of a statewide organization and to develop strategies that meet the future needs of the company. OBRC offers a competitive salary and benefits package. OBRC is seeking a Digital Communications Manager that can help advance our social media program and support the creative and strategic needs of the External Relation department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital story-telling and a mix of personal, analytical, and technical skills to successfully identify and capture high-quality content, deliver unique content to multiple audiences, distribute content through curated networks of endorsers, and analyze and report performance. The ideal candidate will also have a broad interest in public relations, public policy, recycling, and conservation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop social media content and campaigns by building relationships within the organization and with our partners, keeping informed about company goals and initiatives, and creating content that engages target audiences Track analytics, conduct analysis and prepare reports that influence future PR strategy, identify PR opportunities and highlight campaign successes Define and build authentic partnerships and programs between clients and influencers in our existing network and beyond Proactively meet with company department stakeholders to understand strategy, priorities, and upcoming needs where content can help Ensure that social media and digital content and campaigns align with general PR strategies and goals Monitor social and conventional media to identify concerns and potential opportunities Collaborate with and assist in the management of paid social and digital media content supplied by an advertising agency Research and evaluate additional and emergent social media channels, trends in social media communications strategies and incorporate innovative methods when appropriate Work in collaboration with OBRC Customer Advocate to respond to customer or community inquiries via social media channels in a timely and appropriate manner; resolve customer issues, and deepen online engagement with customers and followers Collaborate to create graphic design and creative PR needs, including creating in-house products such as posters and flyers, and assisting with signage and design for OBRC and BottleDrop Collaborate with the public relations team on copy writing and editing Track conventional broadcast media performance and trends Coordinate and assist with website creation and maintenance Maintain a working knowledge of the Bottle Bill, BottleDrop centers, company policy, and PR trends Other job duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Minimum 2 years managing social media in a professional context Deep understanding of social media universe including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, social listening strategies and capable of turning insights into action Ability to own the planning, development, implementation and measurement of social media campaigns Technology savvy with solid understanding of the web, online marketing, direct marketing and best social media practices Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, the Adobe creative suite, and Google Analytics Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, and follow through on issues in a timely manner Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; Self-starter and independent worker, but not hesitant to ask for direction when needed Photography and video experience and skills preferred Available to work a flexible schedule as needed to capture and tell social media stories, including occasional evenings and weekend BENEFITS Competitive rate of pay Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Plans 401(k) with company matching Paid Time Off Paid Holidays
