Job Description

The Global Marketing Communications & Alignment Manager will support the Global Marketing Department to inspire and align the organization around marketing priorities for the McDonald’s Brand. This is a marketing knowledge management role with touch points across the organization: the global and local marketing teams, global corporate functions as well as external marketing agency partners. It is an ideal role for someone to enter the marketing team, or for a marketer to broaden skills along a longer-term career track in marketing. The ideal candidate will have marketing competency and business management experience, with a focus on communications and effective project management. This role lives within a dynamic work environment - it will require you to react and improvise with confirmed judgment, working autonomously to complete both well-defined and largely undefined projects. In addition to alignment responsibilities, ad-hoc project work in other areas of marketing could be assigned to assist the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities

Play a central leadership role in the launch, enhancement and ongoing growth of the new Marketing Exchange online knowledge center, which will re-invent how the best marketing ideas are shared across the system. Responsibilities will include owning the cross-functional project team, guiding vendors/agencies, hitting timeline breakthroughs, creating awareness and excitement, and continuously driving the development of new content.

Co-lead the Global Marketing Knowledge Council, collaborating with the marketing community to create and amplify compelling digital content focused on McDonald’s marketing learning from case studies and global advisement

Drive positive engagement and community across the Global Marketing Team in partnership with Marketing leadership.

Lead and handle the Knowledge Management budget, including partnering with Finance, coordinating budget planning activities, and maintaining timelines

Build and develop relationships for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness to the system, helping to define new communication deployment strategies

Handle external and internal agencies day-to-day activities to ensure knowledge management program effectiveness against agreed upon critical key performance indicators

Qualifications

Preferred backgrounds in marketing, project management, agency, or communications/alignment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Collaborative approach with the ability to work independently across global, virtual and cross-functional teams; Values-driven behavior

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work

Able to handle and move forward multiple tasks at once, all in varying states of completion

Results and deadline driven, working well under high pressure situations while staying resourceful, subtle, persistent, and flexible in responding to constantly evolving demands

Highly motivated. Should be able to follow-up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.

Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and across a variety of cultures

Ability to optimally cope with change and maintain focus

Phenomenal teammate and great listener with strong communication skills
