Position Summary:

We’re looking for someone with strategic vision and proven tactical experience, who combines the two skill sets to confidently help guide and measure the division’s internal marketing communication efforts. Specifically, we need a candidate who is ready to develop and implement our global internal marketing communications strategy across our matrixed organization. You’ll drive consistency of process and practice within the division. With your input and contributions, we’ll create a meaningful, ongoing conversation with employees to help Gallagher’s Benefits and HR Consulting division achieve our business objectives, while promoting our unique culture and shared values, known as The Gallagher Way.

 

Basic Responsibilities:

This position’s primary focus is to develop and execute internal marketing communications initiatives for Gallagher’s Benefit and HR Consulting’s marketing team.  So it’s imperative that the candidate has a working knowledge of B2B marketing. The person in this role will ensure that our consultants have the right marketing information at the right time, in order to meet their organic growth goals. This individual will be responsible for writing, editing, reviewing and overseeing the release of internal marketing communication documents and programs that support the team’s key growth initiatives and drive consistent messaging. They must be able to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization, effectively utilize a variety of channels/platforms and meet deadlines for multiple projects.

 

Responsibilities:


Develop and execute internal marketing communications campaigns and campaign assets
Implement Gallagher’s internal brand guidelines within the division’s internal communications programs
Lead the planning and implementation of national/divisional employer brand campaigns
Support C-suite in business communications including organizational and business announcements, divisional/strategic new hires/promotions, operational updates and events
Collaborate with colleagues to produce accurate, compelling, and editorially proficient written communications and ensure consistency of messaging
Write and edit internal materials, including program announcements, organizational announcements, intranet articles, leadership communications/messages, newsletters, best practice guides, talking points, emails, etc.
Work with marketing colleagues to create and distribute weekly internal marketing newsletter in the US; also responsible for updating/improving the newsletter as appropriate to respond to changing business needs
Lead the development and posting of content and graphics on the division intranet
Work with corporate, crisis management/business continuity and external communications leads on crisis communications when necessary; provide strategic counsel as appropriate
Update and maintain the division’s crisis and business continuity plan and develop new assets as needed (statements, talking points, FAQs etc)
Create and implement a consistent, effective and straightforward internal marketing communications process and practice across the division

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field with a thorough understanding of communications principles and practices.
6 years of progressive communications experience, preferably in corporate communications with a focus on internal communications and driving change initiatives.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong writing, proofing and editorial skills. 


 

Skills and Expertise:


Experience executing B2B marketing projects that have resulted in increased brand visibility and lead generation
Excellent, customer-centric oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on grammar, copywriting, and proofreading
Equally strong communication skills to work with subject matter experts to produce communications in a way that is meaningful and relevant to the target audience
Experience in editing and proofreading all types of copy, both technical and narrative
Knowledge of Associated Press Style guidelines
Sets priorities with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
Utilizes excellent time management skills and works under tight deadlines
Provides a consistent level of high quality and accuracy in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Strong attention to detail
Tech savvy and desire to learn different platforms quickly
Ability to work independently while being able to establish strong working relationships with a network of internal and external staff
Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize those projects to meet desired deadlines
Knowledge in MS Office, Adobe Creative, Poppulo and SharePoint along with demonstrated skills across social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google etc.
