The Massage Therapy Foundation was founded by the American Massage Therapy Association in 1990 with the mission of advancing the knowledge and practice of massage therapy by supporting scientific research, education, and community service. The Foundation is able to provide these services by individual gifts, industry support, and fundraising events. The Massage Therapy Foundation is looking for a Development and Communications Coordinator. This position Works alongside the Development and Communications Manager and assists in supporting the MTF’s development and communications efforts. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate website updates and write copy via WordPress. Coordinate Foundation’s social media platforms. Coordinate monthly podcast. Coordinate MTF communication pieces. Write copy for MTF newsletter and other professional newsletters. Conduct research on funding possibilities for programs and initiatives. Assist with developing marketing strategies in accordance with the Communications and Marketing Plan. Assist with internet research. Assist with performing administrative duties including updates in donor database & marketing software. Assist with development data entry and stewardship administrative duties. Assist with development of program specific grant proposals. Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising events. Assist in responding to incoming queries. Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking. Ability to learn software and programs quickly a plus. Ability to work well without constant direction. Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior. Excellent communication and writing communication skills. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Attendance/Punctuality. Initiative and acceptance of responsibility. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or similar. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Design ability and Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus. Experience with WordPress or similar website Content Management System. Proven ability to handle a multitude of tasks and deadlines. Basic experience with database software a plus, but not required. Non-profit and/or association experience preferred. May require some weekend and evening hours Relationship This position reports to and works under the direction of the Development and Communications Manager. This position will also work closely with the Foundation Executive Director. Additionally, this position will work closely with the Massage Therapy Foundation President, Officers, Board of Trustees, Committee Chairs and other MTF volunteers on a daily basis.
