The Manager of Internal Communications reports to Duo’s Head of Communications. You will organize communications efforts and content calendars, working across functions with the Duo communications team, broader Cisco Security team, human resources, legal team and executives (to name a few) around key company news and updates. You will work closely with the public relations team to ensure internal and external messages and branding are consistent, as well as with senior executives to help communicate a number of company updates and milestones.
As an internal communications manager, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop and implement an internal communications strategy and tactical plan that build engagement and a positive transparent culture within Duo as part of Cisco Security
Oversee communications for ongoing integration of Duo into Cisco, as well as any other change management communications and processes
Manage the overall Internal Communications calendar and partner across functions with the Duo communications team, broader Cisco Security, Global Security Sales Organization (GSSO), people (human resources, diversity & inclusion, recruiting) team, legal team and executives around key company news and updates, ensuring messaging is integrated, creative, and consistent
Plan, write and edit content as both visible author and ghostwriter for a variety of internal communications vehicles including but not limited to: email, FAQs, video, newsletters, monthly all-hands meetings, and physical and digital signage
Create a seamless flow of information from top-down and bottom-up that results in team members receiving important information from leadership (changes, goals, values) and leadership understanding needs of team members
Build and leverage employee feedback channels, monitor in real-time, and analyze data from regular surveys. Propose and apply best practices to extend reach and engagement, and improve delivery methods and frequency
Act as a trusted resource and develop strong relationships with colleagues at all levels. Build consensus across cross-functional teams and influence decision making with senior-level audiences to achieve business objectives
Help proactively manage internal communications response to crisis situations that may affect company perception and reputation
Advise senior executives of developments throughout the company, either face-to-face or through regular written communication, and assist with executive messaging and presentations as needed
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Ability to develop creative communication strategies and tactics, as well as track effectiveness of campaigns and manage feedback channels to make recommendations for improvement
Strong public speaking skills as you are likely to give presentations to staff or company executives
Proven ability to prioritize, be assertive and a willingness to take ownership is key to success. Candidate must be detail-oriented with ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, thriving in a fast-paced environment
Adept interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work across teams at Duo, including senior executives
Skilled team player with ability to negotiate approvals diplomatically, and maintain composure and quality under deadline pressure
Security industry or broader technology industry experience is a plus, but not required
A degree in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage although not required
