Palladian Partners, an Altarum company, is looking for a Writer/Editor to support a major research institution with their internal and employee communications initiatives. The successful candidate will work onsite at our client\u2019s office in Bethesda, Maryland, with regular interaction with Palladian staff at our Silver Spring, MD, headquarters.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with at least 5 years of experience supporting internal and employee communications for large organizations. An understanding and appreciation for scientific research and public health is a plus. This person will be responsible for working directly with clients. The candidate should have a solid understanding of internal communications, including best practices and ways to maximize efficiency, as well as digital internal communications. To be successful in the role, the candidate must have strong writing and editing skills, robust attention to detail, and an ability to maintain a positive relationship with clients and team members.
Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll be doing
Work with clients to implement new internal communications strategy and processes
Develop SOPs for communicating with internal researchers, administrative staff, technical staff, leadership, subject matter experts, and others through traditional and digital communications channels
Collaborate with clients and generate forward-thinking ideas to engage with target audiences to share information
Apply best practices for internal communications in concert with leadership
Lead the creation and maintenance of content according to industry best practices
Coordinate content strategy and development, establish workflows and timelines, and work with appropriate staff to disseminate content
Monitor and track project deliverables and deadlines
Write, review, and edit content, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and appropriate compliances (i.e., WCCC/section 508, plain language, etc.)
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years work experience in communications, publishing, or related field
At least two years of project management experience
Writing and editing experience in a scientific setting
Minimum of a Bachelor\u2019s degree in communications or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Familiarity with health and science communications and the research and/or medical community
Ability to work comfortably under pressure and prioritize multiple work responsibilities, with competing demands, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
Ability to initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Proven ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Flexible\u2014willing to do the nitty-gritty work required to make a project successful
Positive\u2014ability to collaborate with and promote a positive relationship between colleagues, partners, and clients
