Position Summary
Develop original content for social media team through daily writing and management of posts for NYU's central channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn), which reach more than 1.5 million people. The incumbent will be part of the team that creates the consistent voice across NYU's central social channels. Primary responsibilities are to draft and schedule daily posts sharing university news from internal and external sources; to creatively prepare original content produced by the Assistant Director of Social Media, Multimedia Content Producer, and Assistant Director of Visual Storytelling for use on a variety of digital platforms; to conceive messaging for various campaigns; and to consistently monitor and engage with followers on all of NYU's channels. The social media manager will also partner with the Assistant Director of Social Media and student assistants to develop original content for Snapchat and Instagram Stories, will help with production on video shoots, and will occasionally write profiles or other pieces of content to be featured on social.

Required Experience:
At least 4 years of related communications experience, preferably managing an organization or brand's social media channels, with very strong writing and technical skills.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in public relations or higher education industry.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Fluency in communicating on all social media platforms, with careful attention to differences in style and format of each. Specific knowledge and experience with social media analytics (software, standards, and procedures). Excellent organization and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population at all levels. Knowledge of standard office software and best practices for communicating effectively on social media.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Graphic design, photography, and/or video skills. Journalistic writing/reporting experience.
