MAJOR FUNCTIONS:The Outreach Coordinator will follow supportive best practices to provide behavioral health services that foster supportive peer relationships with and among the persons enrolled in the supportive groups and other related programs. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for screening and recruiting departments within the NYS Psychiatric Hospitals, Office of Mental Health License Programs\/Housing, Shelters and NYC hospitals in order to conduct groups at various outside programs. Provide supervision, training and orientation for all Peer Specialists. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Organizing various outreach groups and marketing outreach services.2.Act as an integral member of the Outreach Team. 3.Share personal experiences of recovery to build a sense of hope in the recovery in the group process.4.All Outreach Workers must report to the office and sign in prior to going into the field to conduct Outreach groups and return to the office to sign out. 5.All files must be kept in appropriate, designated locations in the Outreach office to ensure safety so they may be located at any time.6.When client contact is off-site all client notes must be secured outside the Program\u2019s office, it is important to ensure confidentiality is respected both verbally and in written form. 7.All group notes must be brought into the office and securely stored at the end of each day. 8.Conducted regularly scheduled groups with clients at various sites in a timely manner.9.Properly document and file case notes and other reports in accordance with program protocols.10.Collect data and report on client satisfaction regarding groups.11.Attend meetings and training functions Safeguard confidential information.12.Prepare monthly reports for the Program Director.13.Prepare monthly Levels of Service (LOS) Report through DOMHH website.14.Ensure supervision for staff as per Odyssey House internal policies. Prepare written six-month evaluations on staff under his\/her supervision. Review evaluations on all staff.15.Comply with all DOMHH regulations and participate in the certification process.16.Maintain good relations with and act as liaison to the state monitoring agency. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION\/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES1.Master\u2019s Level Clinical Degree preferred or Bachelor\u2019s Degree and 5 years administrative or clinical experience working with target population.2.2 years experience in administration and one year in a clinical, mental health, housing or chemical dependency setting.3.Qualified Mental Health Professional (e.g. LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, CRC, Ph.D., MSN, CASAC etc.)4.A commitment to recovery, choice, empowerment, and the ability to help people with serious mental illness and\/or co-occurring disorders to find meaningful lives in the community.5.Ability to establish a trusting relationship with peers, including excellent interpersonal skills.6.Detail oriented with good writing and organizational abilities.7.Ability to network within the community and work with diverse populations.8.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
