Job Overview: Are you passionate about corporate communications and excited about informing and engaging Associates for a well-known consumer brand? Macy's is currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Communications who will guide all internal communications for our dynamic Merchandising team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, is an assertive and progressive thinker, an inclusive leader with strong executive presence, with the ability to influence senior leaders. This role will join a team of existing and new communications talent all working together to build a strong internal communications function at Macy's. Retail experience is a plus, but not a must. Perform other duties as assigned. This position is based in New York City. Essential Functions: • Act as the main point person and project manager on corporate communications initiatives for Merchandising, including managing the revamp of the Merchandising section of the intranet and orchestration of town halls. • Maintain Merchandising corporate communications tools including but not limited to: Macy's intranet; Yammer; email communications; and other Associate and communications channels. • Act as communications consultant to internal partners on how to best utilize communications vehicles, engage various parts of the organization, and align with communications to other stakeholders. • Contribute to internal Chief Merchandising Officer and executive leader communications strategy, including drafting talking points, video scripting, and presentation development. • Contribute to corporate communication calendar planning. • Lead the development and alignment of Merchandising editorial content and messaging, utilizing Macy's various corporate communications vehicles and tools. • Create Merchandising content for external corporate social channels (LinkedIn, corporate twitter). • Manage the streamlined consistency of internal brand standards across all materials. • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications: Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, organizational communications or related field required. • 5 years of experience managing internal corporate communications by providing best in class strategy, in-house experience a must, agency experience a plus. • Demonstrated experience using technology to define and deliver corporate communications messaging for a large organization. • Digital and social media savvy, and passionate about using these skills for corporate communications. Communication Skills: • Strong project manager with advanced writing and presentation design skills. Reasoning Ability: • Ability to manage cross-functional and agency relationships to execute large, complex initiatives. Other Skills: • Ability to easily build relationships and credibility. • Able to serve as the \brand ambassador\ of Macy's to internal stakeholders. • Flexible approach to work with ability to toggle between projects and priorities in a high pressure environment. Work Hours: • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. This job description is not all inclusive.
