Job Description

Job Summary:

The Coordinator, Media Planning and Buying, will work collaboratively with the Media team and account strategy to develop media strategy, implement plans, and track and analyze response of media plans/buys. Understand target audiences and marketing needs, identify media tactics that will deliver measurable results, and assist in development of media plans. Form relationships with media outlets, gain knowledge and understanding of specific offerings. Maintain understanding of opportunities in specific markets and overall media environment. Create and maintain flowcharts information. Collaborate with Billing Team to address discrepancies as necessary to ensure timely payment of media vendors.


Assists in the development and implementation of communication, marketing and/or project plans. Prepares reports for leadership regarding the status of projects.

Assist in research for media planning including industry articles, syndicated data, digital analytics.

Negotiate and purchase media across markets for all paid media initiatives – including, TV, radio, print, OOH, digital.

Supports delivery of project results within constraints of budget and resources.

Manage media plans including, but not limited to, issuing orders, digital trafficking, makegoods/credits and discrepancies.

Serves as a liaison with other markets and broader human resource functions.

Coordinates project planning and delivery, including but not limited to project resources, data, funds, activities, staff, and schedules to ensure effective and timely completion of projects within budget boundaries.

Monitor media trends and competitive activity across markets, assisting in building market reports to share with local teams

Coordinates projects and programs as assigned to include processing requisitions, developing spread sheets and presentations, managing distributions, generating reports, coordinating events, coordinating sponsorships and coordinating social media responses in alignment with digital communications leadership.

Implements tactics that align local market voice to System “key messages”.

Ensures that communication and marketing outputs are consistent, accurate and appropriate.

Supports Marketing and Communications Shared Services leadership and staff to implement internal and external resources locally and nationally.

Generates metrics and measurements which are used to enable continuous improvement and ensure effective use of resources.



High School or Equivalent required.

Associate's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

One year of experience in marketing and/or communications in a speciality area such as branding and marketing, internal communications, public & media relations and/or digital communications required.

It is desirable that the successful candidate will have a degree in marketing and/or communications and work experience in managing media buying and planning.

Agency experience across multiple media channels is favorable, but not required.

Understanding of computer systems and project management practices preferred.
