Edelman’s DC office has an opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to join our Brand Team to work on a premiere hospitality client, with a focus on content development and consumer and corporate media relations.  
In this role, you’ll advance communications objectives for several hospitality brands. This includes playing a lead role in developing and implementing media strategies, conducting media outreach to travel, lifestyle, business, trade and other types of media, assisting with account management, developing content for client blogs and websites, and managing junior staff.  
We are looking for someone who has a strong background in developing and executing (or playing a supporting role) earned media strategies, as well as someone who excels at consumer-focused writing. The ideal candidate will be eager to build on their strong foundation of media relations experience and is enthusiastic about consumer and corporate brand comms. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your leadership skills while creating innovative, newsworthy campaigns for top brands, working with top-tier reporters, and partnering with Edelman colleagues across the network.  
Responsibilites:
Contribute to creation of media strategies that meet client objectives with a focus on earned media  
Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence 
Build relationship with clients and colleague at all levels and disciplines, including communications, brand, and social media  
Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content 
Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including building reporter relationships, conducting media outreach, managing editorial opportunities through pitching to completion, managing reporter events and trips, and supporting briefing process for clients 
Participate in on-site client meetings 
Develop content for client blogs and websites from start to finish, including sourcing imagery and working with social teams for distribution  
Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback 
Aid in new business process including idea contribution, research and proposal preparation 
Commit to continuous learning; set and pursue stretch goals 
Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values (Quality, Integrity, Respect, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Mutual Benefits) and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct 
Basic Qualifications:
The senior account executive must have at least two years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing. 
Preferred Qualifications:
The senior account executive must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. S/he should be able to develop communications plans, implement public relations tactics and impart knowledge to more junior team members. S/he should have strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills, perform well under pressure and be a team player. A background in corporate comms and/or working with travel/hospitality brands is preferred. Experience with social media is desired.
