We’re looking for a professional, motivated Development Assistant to join our Development & Public Relations team!
SCOPE:
The Development Assistant will play a key role in the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie’s fundraising efforts by providing high-level administrative support to the development office. The Development Assistant must be an accurate, detail oriented, independent self-starter who can fulfill duties with minimal supervision. Must possess a pleasant and professional manner.
HOURS:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Generally Monday – Friday 8am -5pm, with flexibility required for events outside of regular business hours.
FLSA:
Non-exempt, hourly position.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Director of Development and Public Relations with print publication, web site and social media updates.
Assist with e-communication emails using Constant Contact; maintain email list.
Support Director of Development in donor prospecting, cultivation and solicitation.
Serve as staff liaison for CHP Social Network Committee.
Assist development office with mailings including annual campaign, event invites and outreach.
Maintain and manage donor database; including gift processing, acknowledgments, and reports.
Manage in-kind donations.
Assist development office with fundraising/special events.
Represent development office at internal meetings and events as needed.
Represent CHP at events and activities in the community as needed.
Coordinate volunteer group visits, activities and agency tours.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development & PR.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: (required)
Bachelor’s Degree
Current NYS Driver’s License
Minimum of one year of experience in development, public relations or related fields such as marketing, sales and/or business development.
Practical experience with fundraising databases, email marketing tools and social media.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Non-Essential: (preferred)
Familiarity with Adobe software (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
