The Grants Manager, Institutional Giving reports to the Assistant Director, Institutional Giving, and is a member of a six-member Institutional Giving team within 92Y’s Development Department. The responsibilities of this position include developing, implementing and overseeing processes related to grants management, stewardship, and cultivation for foundation, corporate foundation, government, and UJA-Federation grants.
Develop, implement, and manage system for tracking grant deliverables, outputs, and outcomes.
Working closely with Grants Managers, program staff, and Financial Management Operations (FMO) staff, track progress against deliverables, and ensure that grant terms are met or requests are made, as allowed, for reallocations of grant funds.
Working closely with Grants Managers and FMO staff, assist with developing budgets and financial reports for grants.
Using knowledge of grant deliverables, assist Grant Managers with narrative and budget reports for grants.
Working with Grants Managers and FMO staff, track salary allocations across all proposals.
Working with the Development Operations group, create and maintain reports that show weekly progress toward Institutional Giving goal.
Develop and manage grants stewardship strategy to engage institutional donors in 92Y and keep them informed of 92Y’s programs and the impact of their support.
Create and maintain a database of regularly updated statistics regarding participation figures, demographics, and reach for programs and marketing. Develop an annual calendar for when these statistics will be needed so that information can be gathered well in advance.
Monitor RFPs for new funding opportunities, and manage major prospect pipeline and moves management.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Between three and five years previous experience in foundation, corporate and government fundraising, grant writing, prospect research, and/or related areas.
Ability to understand, interpret and administer grant requirements and grant agreements.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with the facility to understand complex budgeting models.
Ability to work collaboratively with Financial Management Operations staff and program staff on grants.
Knowledge of foundation, corporate and government funding communities.
Exemplary writing, interpersonal and process-oriented organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet grant and reporting deadlines.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and Excel with knowledge of Tessitura database preferred.
