Execute and develop Boston Children’s Hospital’s Social Media program under the leadership of the Enterprise Communications team and management by the Social Media Senior Manager and in coordination with the entire Marketing team. Oversees the program to include social media content creation, editing, curation, and optimization. Utilize social media to develop and increase brand awareness, drive traffic to and across the Hospital’s digital ecosystem, generate interest, drive patient/family engagement, and support marketing programs.

This Senior Social Media Specialist will be responsible to:

Create, curate, edit, optimize content (written and visual) aligned with corporate marketing and communication objectives through strong collaboration across the enterprise

Create relevant, valuable, usable, and useful social media content and strategies reach Boston Children’s audiences. Identify, engage, and activate target audiences based on marketing priorities/campaigns for various care centers and hospital priorities. Develop, nurture, and expand appropriate BCH’s care center communities (Heart, Brain, Cancer, Trust, beyond). Oversee affiliate social media presence across the enterprise (new apps, launches, best practice orientation).

Oversee design aspects of social media channels to ensure alignment with BCH's brand standards. Work closely with marketing and creative team on integrated promotions and ad campaigns utilizing social media channels.

Oversee design and implementation of clinical trial social media advertising campaigns for various hospital programs and research teams

In collaboration with the core team, create and execute a content calendar for different social media platforms and audiences, coordinated with the Marketing and Communications editorial board calendar

Through active social listening, identify threats and opportunities in social media posts and help to manage and enhance BCH’s reputation

Analyze social media campaign effectiveness and utilize data to review impact and results and to create measurement reports

Educate hospital staff on social media-related topics, best practices, etc

Mentor and serve as the go-to person for junior staff and intern

Maintain knowledge base on latest tools and social media tactics being used by brands and how to leverage opportunities via new technologies and approaches, including, potentially, utilizing outside application vendors

To qualify, you must have:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, English, or similar field and 3 years of non-managerial experience in social media

Knowledge and understanding of marketing and promotion via high-profile communities on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn Google , etc

Experience with SEO and third-party tools such as Sprinklr, Brandwatch, and/or Google Analytics

Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other staff
