JOB DESCRIPTION This 20-40 hour-per-week paid internship opportunity will allow you to work with a multi-disciplinary communications team. The Communications Division at Colorado PERA leads the organization's strategic communication and stakeholder engagement efforts through educational outreach, grassroots mobilization, social\/digital media, and content development. You will provide staff support to projects within various areas of the division. Essential functions include digital and social media strategy execution; data analysis and reporting; grassroots education program support; website management; and content creation. Specific duties and project-related activities may include: Assisting with the execution of a digital acquisition strategy for The Dime, Colorado PERA's financial blog targeted toward millennial members. Performing research on best practices within the personal finance blogging space, as well as on digital influencers for consideration in The Dime's pilot partnership program. Brainstorming content ideas for The Dime's editorial calendar, stepping in to author content where appropriate. Drafting The Dime's weekly e-newsletter. Assisting with the day-to-day implementation of a new social media strategy for The Dime. Analyzing site and social metrics for The Dime's audience growth and engagement. Supporting the development of a formalized recruitment process for PERA's Ambassador program (600 member volunteers engaged in advocacy efforts in their local communities). Planning educational\/training programs for PERA Ambassadors. Providing additional tactical assistance on PERA's Ambassador program, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Undergraduate or graduate working toward a degree in marketing, communications, or journalism Ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task, and work independently with limited supervision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communicator, able to clearly relay information both verbally and in writing Effective interpersonal skills and team orientation Proficiency with MS Office, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), and CMS applications Experience with HubSpot preferred, but not required ABOUT COLORADO PERA PERA is one of Colorado's best investments.
