Description ---Public Affairs AssistantPlans and implements special events and projects. Includes writing and editing assignments, social networking and media initiatives, web and graphics design. Public Affairs supports OU's mission through publicity, promotion and special events designed to encourage public understanding and support of the University and to foster a consistent, positive image of OU across the state and nation.***Examples of work must be included in attachments*** Job Requirements --- Required Education: Bachelor Degreeu00a0or equivalent combination of education/job related experienceu00a0AND: 12-24 months experience in event planning, marketing, media outreach or graphic design Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff Customer service Proficient writing using Associated Press style Basic knowledge of image resolution, pre-press and CMYK/Spot printing process. Effective oral and written communication skills. Familiar with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite Ability to plan and coordinate multiple events and projects including managing RSVPs using Access, creating reports and data entry. Professional writing, public relations or copy-editing Certifications : Drivers License required for regular event support. Advertised Physical Requirements: Must be able to grasp, communicate and engage in repetitive motions. Departmental Preferences: Bachelor's degree in related field of work. Strong preference for applicants familiar with OU academic programs. Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
