JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Communications is responsible for developing and leading the organization's communications strategy and execution, while developing the teams operating practices working as an internal creative agency. He or she supports executive leadership as a communications advisor and strategist, working directly with supporting industry based public relations, community relations, event strategy, and corporate brand strategy functions.
Develop coordinated communications strategies and operation processes for North America
Set measurable objectives for the communications function
Oversee communications measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports
Support internal communications priorities, marketing, and change management for strategic initiatives through strategy, resource allocation, content development and executive advisory
Oversee the selection of agencies and freelance partners; manage these critical relationships
Lead public relations and influencer relations efforts and act as centralized content development resource for the marketing team and regional field sales operations
Lead corporate social responsibility and community affairs functions
Implement protocols and best practices in anticipation of crisis management
Implement key communications policies, protocols and guidelines
Develop social media strategy, governance and operation processes
Prepare speeches, scripts and presentations for executive-level speaking engagements, including internal and external events
Support and oversee video production needs for internal events and external customer engagement
Manage and adhere to a budget
Manage, coach, mentor and train a team to successfully achieve the goals and objectives of the department
Education & Experience:
BA of BS degree or equivalent experience plus 10 or more years of B2B communications experience in leadership role
Hands-on corporate public relations experience, ideally within the same or similar industry
Implementation and management of brand guidelines
Management of large onsite and external agency teams and freelancers collaborating on complex projects
Management of communications to multiple complex stakeholder groups at a local, regional, national and international scale
Selection and oversight of creative, content and social communications agencies and freelancers
Management of budget and resource allocation to support success and efficiency
Previous demonstrated linkage of communications efforts to an organization's broader campaign plan and revenue targets
Previous demonstrated crisis management/avoidance
Strong written/oral communications
Messaging and positioning
Strategic, objective-driven planning and reporting
Trusted advisor to senior executives
Creative and collaborative; socially savvy
Detail-oriented, articulate, and analytical
Ability to engage at all levels of the organization
Track record of communications supporting sales, lead generation, and campaign activities
MBA in marketing or related business degree strongly preferred
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
