The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for media, public relations and ambassador initiatives for the organization. Creates, manages, and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching the company’s position within the industry and building and maintaining strong relationships with media representatives to generate awareness for the brand, products and business as a whole.
The Public Relations Specialist performs, but is not limited to, the following principal duties and responsibilities: Implements public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image.
Identify, develop, and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and target customers.
Write, edit, proofread, and revise communications.
Work with Public Relations manager and business units to manage expenses to budget.
Promote products and services through media and public relations and ambassador initiatives.
Develop proactive media, public relations and influence campaigns.
Develop and maintain departmental tools and resources like press kit, media database, and reporting charts and spreadsheets.
Maintain schedule for press fleet use.
Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals.
Research, track and report media coverage and industry trends.
Conduct extensive media outreach in endemic and non-endemic sectors Support trade & consumer events.
Schedule and coordinate press interviews, launches and new product launches.
Help to clarify the organizations point of view to their main constituency.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
The Public Relations Specialist requires a skill set that meets the following standards. High standard of communication (verbal and written) in order to cultivate relationships at all levels Writing, Grammar and Proofreading skills to a high standard Advanced standard with PowerPoint, Word & Excel Spreadsheets Understanding of Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Brand values and positioning Outgoing personality and networking skills to create new opportunities. Organizational skills required to manage budgets, event planning and press launches awareness and understanding of Moto Culture and sub-genre in order to identify opportunities. Ability to present compelling, strategic thoughts in order to influence press reporting and involvement on product comparison tests and press launches. Ability to travel, work weekends and evening s as required. Competent riding skills and technical sensitivity to credibly explain product features .Physical ability to move and load motorcycles as required. Positive, commercially minded attitude.
Establish, maintain and cultivate relationships with endemic, news and lifestyle media. Maintain relationships and communication with agencies of record, where relevant.
