HDR is looking for a Strategic Communications Director to be part of our nationally ranked Resources Business Group. This business group includes the following markets: Industrial, Power & Energy, and Waste.
The primary duty of the Water Business Group (WBG) Strategic Communications Director will be to drive the implementation of a market-sector focused strategic communications program within the WBG. This position will report locally into an operating Area and will have dotted line reporting to the Water Cross Sector Development Director as well as the Strategic Communications Cross Sector Director. This individual will partner with the other business group Strategic Communications directors to coordinate activities that are tied to achieving goals across business groups.
In this role, we'll count on you to:
Identify market trends and develop strategies to position HDR as a leader in the market.
Collaborate and integrate business class efforts with local, regional, and national leaders within HDR, both within, and external to, the Water Business Group.
Drive the implementation focused strategic communications program within the WBG.
Build technical expertise and production capacity through recruitment and training.
Lead activities to continually improve standards and best practices and implement effective quality assurance
Foster client relationships and directly lead and/or participate in key project pursuits and projects.

A Master’s degree in a marketing or communications field.
Minimum of 10 years with practical communications experience in the Architecture &Engineering industry
Experience in the development and management of a wide range of client or stakeholder relationships and specific programs and/or project pursuits.
Demonstrated industry leadership in associations and in maintaining a visible profile in the relevant markets.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse teams/objectives to find common solutions to advance projects and initiatives.
Proven experience hiring and leading staff; strong history of mentoring.
