Description GENERAL PURPOSE: The Communications & Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in building and implementing employee communications, recognition and engagement strategies and activities targeted to employees in the Corporate and Buying Offices. This position requires a communications \u201cgeneralist\u201d who will create communications campaigns and activities to educate and engage employees, drive emotional connection to the Ross and dd\u2019s brands, support strategic business objectives and reinforce the company culture. Must be comfortable with working senior business leaders and have the ability to create compelling presentations for live meetings. This individual will also work closely with Buying Office business and HR leaders in developing and implementing the strategy and execution of engagement surveys, analysis and action planning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communications & Events Develops internal communications \u201ccampaigns\u201d in support of business and program objectives across multiple audiences. Manages tactical execution, including stakeholder management, crafting of messages and creative development. Ability to synthesize complex information on diverse subjects from multiple sources into clear, concise and compelling presentations on behalf of senior leaders for live employee meetings.\u00a0 Lead point of contact for EVP of Planning and leadership team on broad communications within the Planning division, including end-to-end logistical & content development for annual Planning Town Hall. Works closely with Corporate Communications Director to create compelling content, including speeches, presentations and videos for live Corporate and HR meetings. Support content development and logistics for live Buying Office meetings and events. Partners with Strategy, Investor Relations and Legal on enterprise-wide messaging as necessary. Analyzes employee feedback to make recommendations to improve future messages and meeting experiences. Develop leader tools and Associate communications and experiences to celebrate company milestones. Contributes to the development of the internal communications strategy and master calendar. Culture, Engagement & Recognition Drive the development and implementation of employee engagement survey strategy, administration, analysis and action planning for Buying Office Associates, working closely with Associate Relations and business leaders. Partner with Corporate HR team in survey vendor selection. Analyzes data to recommend adjustments to engagement and recognition strategies. COMPETENCIES: Customer Focus Planning Drive for Results Dealing with Ambiguity Problem-Solving Business Acumen Communication QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field\u00a0 5-7 years of relevant experience knowledge, skills and abilities Proven track record in the field of corporate or employee communications Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships, including executive level, in mid- to large-size organizations, preferably a public and\/or global company or has worked in an agency with similar client profiles.\u00a0 Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Experience in strategic executive and employee communications, recognition and engagement Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to convey information and ideas through high-quality verbal and written communication to individuals or groups. Outstanding project management skills. Previous experience in planning and managing events Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage sensitive situations discreetly. Strategic mindset with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously; ability to track projects with varying deadlines. Strong judgment and interpersonal skills, including ability to build personal credibility and trust. Must demonstrate flexibility and be able to act quickly and confidently. Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\/ADA: Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.\u00a0 Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper\/files, etc.\u00a0 Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
