Edelman New York’s Financial Services team partners with clients across the complex industry to help navigate an increasingly crowded, cross-border marketplace and evolve their brand positioning and communications in a way that fosters reputation and credibility. This Assistant Account Executive (AAE) role is an opportunity for a smart, self-starting, detail-oriented AAE, with a passion for financial and professional services. This position will allow for growth as well as direct contact with clients, partners, and other practice groups across the country and globally. The AAE is responsible for supporting 2 to 5 account teams in daily activities. You will learn Edelman’s various consulting processes and approaches including public engagement, message workshops, master narrative assignments, brand engagement, social media campaigns and stakeholder mapping exercises, and support account teams in the execution of these processes for clients.
While there is no “typical day” at Edelman, you will:
Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling, logistics and provide billing support
Research, compile and analyze client media coverage
Write, edit and proofread materials including press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets and client correspondence
Build lists and pitch media
Participate in new business process including research and proposal preparation
About You:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (PR, English, Communications, Liberal Arts, Journalism)
Have a strong interest in working with clients in the Financial Services space
Show proficiency with Microsoft Office
Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
Demonstrate dedication to consistently provide quality work
Demonstrate strong presentation skills and the ability to ideate on the spot and actively participate in group discussions
Possess solid research, writing, and editing skills
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
Have previous internship experience in a public relations or communications setting (highly preferred)
