About the role:
Boston Scientific is recruiting for a Senior Communications Specialist who can make meaningful contributions to our business and help tell the Boston Scientific story to our stakeholders around the world. This specialist will be an integral member of the Corporate Communications team with responsibility for providing a variety of communications services related to the implementation of internal and external communications programs aligned with the company's overarching business objectives. This is a great opportunity for a skilled communications professional to work in the growing medical device industry on messaging and projects touching multiple audiences including patients, caregivers, physicians, current and prospective employees, investors and the media. This position is located at our headquarters in Marlborough, MA, and reports to the Director, Corporate Communications.
Your responsibilities include:
*Develop a wide range of written communications including press releases, media pitches, social media postings, internal announcements, company website content and intranet stories. Coordinate meetings and interviews with subject matter experts and other key personnel in preparation for stories. Edit and proofread materials to ensure consistency of voice and style across communications. Coordinate the cross functional review and approval of content as needed. *Project management and development of corporate content including company overview presentations and annual corporate performance report, and other key projects as needed. *Support media relations and social media initiatives with upfront research, content development, implementation, monitoring and follow up metric reporting with the use of Agility, Social Studio, LinkedIn Elevate and other tools. *Curate content to support employee advocacy social media. *Work with external vendors to enhance and maintain the company's online newsroom, and to distribute corporate press releases. Support executive communications including monthly written messages as well as production support of videos and quarterly company-wide employee presentations and webcasts. *Provide communications guidance and support to business partners, including community engagement, research and development and digital health. *Support communications quarterly metrics reporting and oversee central repository of communications materials.
What we're looking for:
*Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent. *Minimum of 3-6 years of relevant communications experience in a corporate, agency or news-based environment with a genuine interest in health care news and industry trends.
*Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. *Strong attention to detail with big picture vision. *Demonstrated digital and social acumen, analytical skills, research skills and the ability to synthesize and translate findings into strategic recommendations. *Excellent project management, organizational, planning and time management skills. *Bright quick thinker and self-starter. *Demonstrated desire to identify communications needs, take the initiative to independently move projects forward and embrace challenges. *Ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities. *Proficient in word processing and presentation software. *Familiarity with major social media platforms and other digital tools.
