Customer Service Representative
Electronics Manufacturer and Distributer of test equipment in need of a Customer Service Representative (CSR).
A Customer Service Representative is responsible for being the initial contact for general sales inquiries as they come in by phone and email to BC Group. The CSR will be expected to quickly determine if the inquiry can be handled or if it needs to be forwarded to the most qualified Sales team member available to address the situation. The CSR will provide verbal and written quotes to customers for sales items, calibration and repair pricing. The position is responsible for entering new contacts into the ACT database, documenting all verbal and written communication with customers and prospects. The CSR will provide contract review for incoming sales orders prior to submitting them to accounting for processing.
Our products, customers and market segments are numerous, varied and highly technical. To be successful in the position, a CSR will need to be able to quickly absorb information to gain a working knowledge base. Our marketing and sales activities' dependence on computers and software requires a high degree of computer expertise. Constant changes in the marketplace require the person in this position to be flexible, highly organized and proactive.
Education: Associates Degree in sales, marketing, communications or general studies from a two-year college/vocational school preferred.
Experience: At least two years in customer service, sales support or marketing support, preferably in a technical product sales environment. Five years of increasingly-higher responsibility in customer service, sales support, or marketing support, preferably in a technical product sales environment desired.
Computer Skills: Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to effectively use and search the internet. Ability to utilize Contact Management systems.
Language: Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to write effective letters and other business correspondence that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to speak and write a foreign language would be a plus.
Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
