About the Opportunity
Our team in Washington, DC is seeking a Vice President/Senior Vice President,
Digital Public Affairs & Advocacy with experience on Capitol Hill,
political campaigns or the public policy arena to set the standard for
excellence in campaign, digital and social strategy. As Vice President, you
will fuel digital-first, insights-driven and creative client work that engages
supporters, partners, policymakers and other stakeholders to drive outcomes.
Based at Powell Tate, the
specialty public affairs unit of Weber Shandwick, you will collaborate closely
with senior public affairs colleagues and experts across policy and issues;
strategy and planning; research and analytics; creative, and integrated media,
to translate client goals into successful, integrated, data-driven programs.
You will navigate the intersection
of paid, owned and earned media in digital campaign orchestration. You should
be constantly curious about what’s next in digital advocacy, technology,
marketing, media, and what drives people and constituencies to action. We’re
looking for someone who wants to put their public affairs strategic skills to
work driving advocacy on important, complex issues, who is highly
collaborative, and who is willing to grow and lead doing bold new things for
clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
Engage deeply in our business as a senior
counselor to clients; serve as a client lead and campaign manager for leading
public affairs engagementsCollaborate with NA and global integrated
media teams to shape the future of the agency’s digital advocacy expertise and
offeringDesign and implement high-impact
integrated media strategiesShape campaign concepts and strategies
and translate them into actionable plans with an eye towards measurable ROIPlay a key strategic and executional role
in responding to RFPs and other high-priority new business effortsEngage as an industry thought leader,
both internally and externally
What We’re Looking For
Deeply engaged in the latest in digital
media developments and best practices, including platform insights and
measurement strategies for demonstrating the impact of digital campaigns -- and
savvy in issues such as healthcare, financial services, energy and
sustainability, and technology Outstanding communication skills to
successfully present strategic recommendations and establish trusted
relationships with senior clientsExperience managing projects that include
content and video production, web design and development, community management,
social listening, media outreach and analytics.Proven experience building teams,
managing and mentoring staff and working collaboratively in a team settingDeep understanding of the intersection of
paid, owned and earned media in digital campaign orchestrationExperience handling financial
responsibilities, SOWs and budgetsExperience driving new business and
mentoring and developing talentPassionate about the changing public
affairs landscape and eager to contribute to the agency’s thought leadership in
the spaceConnected within the digital industry
with contacts at various platform companies and deeply ingrained in channel
best practices
Basic Qualifications
Political, legislative and/or public
affairs experienceBachelor’s
degree or higher A minimum of 10 years of experience
driving advocacy outcomes and achieving public policy solutions via integrated
media
