At Weber Shandwick, you\u2019ll get to work with some of the coolest emerging technology startups and biggest consumer technology and B2B companies in the world. The position is based in our NYC office and we are looking for someone to start immediately (November 2017.) This is a full-time (40 hours\/week) hourly paid role with a potential to convert to a full-time salaried Junior Associate role after 90 days. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Technology or Corporate PR, with the ability to provide thorough research and reporting, feel comfortable pitching broadcast, print and online media, and create written media materials.\u00a0 The Essentials Thinking: Intellectual curiosity and creativity is a must. Storytelling: Understand the elements that make a story exciting and how to highlight them in what you read in the press and what you see on social media Communication: Speak, write and edit succinctly and compellingly. Management: Meet deadlines, put out fires and multi-task. Work fast, and work well. Interpersonal: Play nice, whether it\u2019s in a team, with a team or independently. Technical: Know Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Media databases and social tracking tools are a bonus. Detail-Oriented: Whether it\u2019s a media list or a recap report, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering clear and precise work is essential.\u00a0 Spark: Understand what sets you apart. Responsibilities Client and Team Engagement Serve as key team member and engage in client \/ team meetings and brainstorms Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success Provide thoughts and suggestions on tactical matters, linked to strategic plans Media and Writing Brainstorm and pitch compelling ideas for media and influencer pitch efforts Draft media relations materials including media lists and qualify media inquires Develop deep knowledge of industry events and conduct outreach for client speaker's bureau Proof and edit client related documents as needed Contribute to the development of strategic client plans Administrative Support Track brands in traditional and social media and report results Assist in event coordination and logistics Track\/enter time with precision and on a day-to-day basis Perform other administrative tasks as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree some related professional experience, PR agency preferred Available to work full-time, 40 hrs\/week in our NYC office starting in February 2018 for 3 months (no May 2018 grads please) Additional Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills Strong time management skills and attention to detail Familiarity with Cision and other PR tools Passion for tech industry and tech media (as well as the B2B space) Results-oriented\u00a0 Team player Self-starter who accepts \u201cownership\u201d of his\/her own work but can also take direction About Weber Shandwick Weber Shandwick is a leading global communications and engagement firm in 78 cities across 34 countries and operations extending to 126 cities in 81 countries.
