The Jackson Sun, a USA Today Network-Tennessee newspaper and website, seeks a multi-platform visual journalist equally skilled in photography and video, as well as experience in social media, to join a two-person visuals team in Jackson, a midsize city with several colleges, a minor-league baseball team and the International Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame Museum. Jackson is surrounded by picturesque small Tennessee towns and beautiful scenery. There\u2019s lots of daily photojournalism \u2013 preps, breaking news, etc. \u2013 as well as ample opportunity for more in-depth visual projects. The position directly reports to the Jackson Sun, but is part of the Gannett statewide visuals team with coaching and editing by the visuals coach in Nashville. Job dutiesinclude: Covers daily visual assignments such as prep sports, breaking news, portraits and others, and also generates in-depth enterprise visual stories. Collaborates with reporters to provide the best possible visual storytelling for key stories. Is part of the statewide visuals network, occasionally shooting assignments for Gannett newspapers in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, etc. Requirements: Bachelor's in communications, journalism or equivalent in experience and education. Experience with professional photography on multiple platforms. Experience building a personal brand on key social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
