Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations and event marketing programs to drive product and service revenue growth. Current core marketing programs include trade shows, association memberships, webcasts, live events and media.  

While the corporate brand ownership resides with Executive, supported by Corporate Communications, this role serves in a brand governance capacity as a corporate steward and ambassador for the corporate brand and solution portfolio aligned with corporate brand strategy. The incumbent will work closely with the Corporate Communications Strategist in this regard.

This position is also responsible for leading the Marketing Events & Public Relations team, which includes Live Events, Trade Shows, Marketing Communications, and Webcasts. 

Job Responsibilities

Leads, develops and coaches team:

Writes and conducts performance evaluations and progress reports

Handles associate relations issues

Delivers results in line with the following key metrics/accountabilities and other best practice metrics as appropriate

Lead generation

Conversion rates

Expense to revenue


% Media pickups to submissions

Associate retention


Leads, develops and implements strategic marketing communication programs aligned to support product /service goals and aligned with corporate branding - leverage all channels, including social media.

Collaborates and partners with various internal stakeholders to develop communications strategies to amplify the impact of new products, solutions and feature launches. 

Develops marketing programs aligned and collaborated with Line Directors product and service revenue, lead and expense/revenue goals.

Writes, edits, proofs and distributes a variety of product/service related communications such as press releases, case studies, articles, presentations, collateral, etc. Work may be completed personally or by team members. Ensures proper utilization and protection of the corporate brand in all communications.

Directs and manages annual PR Advertising & Events Calendar for product/service related press releases, articles, editorial, whitepapers, interviews, speaking engagements, trade shows, live events, and more.

Proactively identifies and cultivates relationships with key journalists, media influencers, editors, and media outlets nationally and within our industries as related to driving products/services.  Pitches stories and content to achieve the highest visibility. 

Develops and manages product/service related promotional templates and presentations supporting core strategies across all channels, sales platforms, markets, etc.

Ensures consistency and alignment of all programs, collateral and messaging with broad strategy and guidelines developed in corporate communications.

Collects and analyzes data on the performance of specific communications or campaigns.  Reviews with stakeholders and adjusts strategies accordingly.

Participates in Corporate Communication initiatives such as crisis communication, etc. as appropriate and works with Corporate Communications Strategist as necessary for alignment and implementation of key strategies.

Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical and non-discriminatory manner.

Manages expenses in line with departmental budgets and corporate business conditions. 

Enforces and supports all company policies and procedures. Fully support the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strives to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace.



Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Business.


7 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, or public relations.

3 years of experience leading marketing professionals.

Experience building relationships with media contacts.

Experience with social media in a business setting.

Other Skills/Qualifications

High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Ability to create and implement an effective and engaging strategic communication plan with demonstrated, measurable positive impact.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, featuring strong composition skills (i.e., audience appropriate, succinct and clear in content) and detail orientation (e.g., proofreading and editing skills). Employs sound judgment as to what to communicate to whom, as well as the identification of the best delivery methods.

An established track record for creating content vehicles from start to finish (or from concept through completed product).

Creativity and originality skills.

Ability to collaborate and work effectively in partnership with others regardless of level.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.
