Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications

 

The Assistant Director is responsible for developing marketing plans and overall communications strategies that support the Campus Services mission, and boost brand awareness, customer service/education and product/service utilization. This position has significant responsibility to convey Campus Services' brand and capabilities through professional writing skills, delivered via direct marketing (e.g. email, direct mail, e-newsletters, etc.), website development/updates, etc. This position requires a capable self-starter who enjoys the challenge of bringing a fresh and creative approach to new and routine scheduled programs to attract interest among students, parents, staff, faculty and community members

 

Responsibilities

*Develop and manage an integrated marketing communications plan and calendar designed to expand awareness of the business unit services among prospects and those who influence the decision-making process. This includes the creation and execution of all marketing materials in line with business unit marketing plans.

*Develop creative and professional marketing content designed to inform, engage and compel target audience to take action. Robust content marketing strategy should effectively engage core audiences through story-telling style and integrate audience insights and marketing trends.

*Lead the implementation of marketing and communication strategies and tactics spanning both print and digital marketing content, including collateral and content marketing, direct and email marketing campaigns and website copy. Responsible for managing the digital signage and email delivery system, including organization, tracking and assessment for all electronic messaging. *Collaborate closely with marketing team and business unit partners to develop and organize content and ensure content is written concisely, professionally and resonates with the target audience.  *Ensure the identity, voice, and objectives of the business units are articulated in an authentic and cohesive manner across marketing channels. *Tracks, measures and evaluates the results of marketing programs in order to recommend and execute changes to the plan. *May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree with seven (7) years experience; -OR- nine (9) years experience. Degree must be in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field. *Experience also requires at least three (3) years supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

*Exceptionally strong professional writing skills and experience in content marketing, with proven experience in bringing a brand to life through strategic, multi-channel storytelling required. *Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of audiences and styles. *Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept through on-time activation without jeopardizing quality. *Team player who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and can solve problems amid changing circumstances *Ability to translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies. *Strong leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively managing requests from numerous stakeholders. This position reports to Director of Marketing but works closely with Campus Services Marketing team, along with functional leaders across the Campus Services business units. *A working computer knowledge using Microsoft Office and Adobe products in a Windows/network environment.  Content management system experience preferred.
