Our client, a prestigious NYC agency, is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President - Communications. This is newly added headcount role.
Our client is a fast-growing, New York City-based diversified communications firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President to join and lead our corporate practice. The corporate account team oversees communication strategies and media relations for an array of publicly traded and global companies, professional service firms, and digital and e-commerce destinations.
The Vice President of Corporate Communications is a seasoned, confident and strategic business partner who reports to the President of HL Strategic Solutions. The Candidate is responsible for thought leadership and the management of all relevant communications deliverables, programs and events, and for providing general communications support and counsel to a portfolio of clients.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with senior client executives to ensure all of the account goals are met and serve as the day-to-day point of contact for clients.
Create and execute communication strategies and conduct press outreach to appropriately position a range of global media, e-commerce, and financial companies in the marketplace
Secure editorial features and news items, develop story angles, and write press releases
Secure additional top-tier media opportunities, including speaking engagements, sponsorship opportunities, award submissions, etc.
Team leadership, including talent acquisition, development and retention.
Bachelor s degree required
Minimum 2-6 years of media relations and client management experience in an agency setting on an in-house position with a mix of consumer and corporate experience
Strong print and online media contacts
on both a national and domestic level
Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and verbal communications skills
Strong time management skills and the ability
to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Interest in hard news, economic issues, media developments, and world affairs
Ability to understand and converse in stories reported on the front page of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal
Mature attitude and the ability to deal with clients experiencing time-sensitive and pressured situations
Experience devising successful media strategies and pitching stories
