ExchangeNation is looking for a self-motivated individual to work with our Founder & CEO Susanne Goldstein who will be responsible for helping build public awareness for ExchangeNation as well as our documentary TV series, The Exchange. We’re looking to get coverage in blogs, magazines and media, including appearance opportunities for Susanne to speak about our work healing the divide in our country. We are looking for someone who is fearless because we’re building a movement and need someone who finds joy in picking up the phone and pitching reporters, writers and TV producers. As part of our core team, you’ll be able to contribute to our strategic vision and drive a PR and marketing plan that is both creative and measurable. This unpaid internship is an opportunity to work and be mentored by a seasoned start-up executive who will make the time to help you build the skills and thought-processes needed to be successful in your career.
You are fun, enthusiastic, and a have an understanding of marketing and public relations. You will also need a growing “rolodex” and excellent verbal communication skills. You are strategic, detail oriented, and have extremely strong organizational and writing skills. Your positive attitude is infectious and anyone you work with is grateful that you are part of our the team. Respectful, collaborative teamwork and communication skills are a must. About the Job:
As a Marketing and Public Relations Intern, you will work directly with our Founder and CEO Susanne Goldstein to put ExchangeNation on the map. You will create and execute a strategic and measurable comprehensive marketing and public relations plan for ExchangeNation. You will engage in promoting or creating an intentional public image and write or select material for release to various communications media. PR is a vital part of sharing and promoting our company. You can learn both from what works and what doesn’t work, and use this information to improve our outreach plans on an ongoing basis. You will work with our social media intern to ensure that every piece of publicity is is building as much social circulation as possible. If you know a bit about website development, all the better!
Building a PR strategy and target list and a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
Build relationships on behalf of the company with thought leaders, the press, industry influencers and social media mavens in print, broadcast and online media
Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
Manage media inquiries and interview requests
Prepare and edit online and print marketing campaigns
Create content for press releases, byline articles and support the development of keynote presentations
Monitor, analyze and communicate marketing and PR results on a regular basis
Work with Social Media Intern to update website and social media to promote ExchangeNation and to engage audiences across traditional and new media
Maintain favorable public views of the organizations agenda and accomplishments
Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
Part-time 10-12 hours/week or Full-time during the Summer
Timeframe and Schedule: Flexible from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. with occasional evening meetings.
Location: In Boston, and/or virtual
A bachelor’s or in-progress degree
Self starter, able to think creatively to solve problems
You love marketing and public relations and have an eye for what works and what doesn’t
You are comfortable and an effective communicator
Previous professional marketing and public relations experience a huge plus
Technology savvy including. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive/Docs
