The Senior Proofing Manager collaborates with creative leadership, designers, production artists, copywriters and business partners, so strong organizational and communication skills are required. This individual will handle a high volume of work with pressing deadlines on a daily basis, and manage workloads andexpectations with others involved in each project.   The Senior Proofreading Manager manages traffic systems to assign and balance workflow of proofreading jobs and executes efficient processes to support CVS Health initiatives. This individual manages permanent and contract staff while setting an example of excellence as a proofreader and manager. Deliverables include managing existing online traffic system for consistency and balanced workload among proofreaders.Proofing jobs may include in-store signing, direct mail, collateral materials, brochures, digital, weekly ads, emails, social media, in-store radio and other various marketing/advertising materials. This candidate will manage and track their own proofing projects, while managing and mentoring other members of the proofing team. In addition, this individual will work closely with the external translations vendor to provide translations as needed and then ensure those materials are proofed for accuracy. This position would also be responsible for managing and tracking disclaimers for campaigns and coupons and other various materials. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Plays an integral role in managing workflow through the proofing department. · Handles intake and assignment of proofing projects, ensuring balanced workflow across team. · The Supervisor identifies conflicts, comments and changes, and reviews with the appropriate partners to gain clarity and resolution. · Constantly facilitates team communication between Marketing partners, copywriters, designers and Print Production to troubleshoot and problem-solve at every stage of proofreading development. · The individual will perform and manager others in performing the following essential tasks:     o   Read copy against supplied copy to ensure final output is accurate and complete.     o   Proof for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar.     o   Ensure that business style, as well as in-house style guidelines, are followed.     o   Mark up copy and designs using traditional proofreader marks to indicate to designers and programmers any changes or corrections.     o   Review content, fact-check information such as URLS and phone numbers, and raise flags about questionable/inconsistent information.     o   Proof print work, digital work and printers proofs, as well as omni-channel projects.     o   Measure dimensions, spacing and positioning of page elements to verify adherence to specifications.     o   Check revised proofs to ensure that all corrections/changes have been made, if required.     o   Interface with project managers, copywriters and designers to ensure all copy is clean and formatting/designs are compliant with brand standards and/or style guides. ·  Develop team of proofreaders to ensure the consistency, accuracy and efficiency of the team’s work product. ·  Works to create an environment where team members have the opportunity and freedom to perform at their best. ·  Provides opportunities, guidance and feedback to develop proofreaders’ skills and ensure engagement. ·  Develops and maintains understanding of broad project goals to ensure appropriate support is provided. ·  May attend kickoffs or status meetings to ensure clarity. ·  Manage translations requests, process and external vendor.     o   Manages billing of translation services     o   Maintains relationship with translation partner     o   Receives itemized bill and gets approval for charges from partners     o   Submits invoice for payment     o   Monitors and services quality issues to be raised to Senior Creative Director · Managing and tracking of disclaimers for coupons and other various materials. · Partnering with legal to keep log of logo and brand trademarks and communicate out to the teams as needed. · Some hand-on support of the work might be necessary when workload demands are high. · Manages a team of 5-8 people - both full-time and contract.
