Marketing communications interns primarily support a team that specializes in a particular aspect of marketing for the company. Because National Instruments is globally headquartered in Austin, there are a wide range of marketing positions across a variety of teams. Some examples of positions are in events, social media, marketing research, integrated marketing and more. All positions will interface with other marketing departments depending on the specialty area or project. Some of the responsibilities could include writing, editing, and event-planning. Other projects could include conducting competitive analysis, monitoring coverage or reports, assisting with execution of webcasts, podcasts, and other online events, researching the latest multimedia marketing trends and presenting findings, working on projects for the website such as site mapping. We are also looking for candidates interested in working with cross functional teams that develop projects and plans that integrate across marketing. These positions represent broad teams that interface daily with a number of specialized marketing teams. Some of the responsibilities could include evaluating social media technologies, performing trend analysis, supporting and communicating with global branch offices, developing marketing campaigns for regional sales teams, conducting general research and reporting, and presenting findings and recommendations on integrated marketing projects. Additionally, projects could focus on marketing to top accounts, partners, or key application areas and industries. These are paid internships. Qualifications Please Note: Pursuing bacheloru2019s or masteru2019s degree Minimum cumulative (overall) GPA 3.0 Must be enrolled student during designated work term Communications, Business, Marketing, Journalism, Public relations, Advertising, or other related discipline Class Standing: Sophomore or above, with preference given to well-qualified rising juniors and rising seniors Available part time (~20 hours/week) Candidates must demonstrate applicable skills in several of the following areas: Leadership Project management Multitasking Oral and written communication Writing and editing Relationship building Event planning Problem solving Detail oriented Organization Analytical/critical thinking Interest or aptitude in social media or Web 2.0 technologies Experience with or interest in SEO :
