Job Description:
POSITION

INFORMATION: 
Responsible for

planning and executing special events to include the printed and electronic marketing-oriented

communication related to the event. Ensures the quality of effective marketing

communications to targeted customer groups and corporate partners. Coordinates

and maintains communication and relationships and associated duties with the

Horizon Partners Program.
REPRESENTATIVE

DUTIES:
Events Coordination.
Plans, implements, and oversees internal

and external events to include but not limited to alumni, student, faculty

community-related, and corporate sponsored events. Responsible for coordinating

site visits, arranging event space, catering, supplies, equipment, and

signage.
Marketing
. Coordinates promotional materials in association

with events. Gathers information related to targeted audience, writes and

reviews content using journalistic style and grammar.  Coordinates graphic design/layout with

graphic artist, arranges photography as appropriate.  Coordinates event publicly between the

college and corporate partners.
Communication Production


Writes, edits, and coordinates the production of various event

communications including, social media, email, brochures, and various advertisements.

Coordinates communications printing and distribution, and provides

communications for web content.
Budget.
Prepares and monitors event budget. Responsible for

securing purchase orders and submitting invoices for payment.
Corporate Sponsors.
Cultivates and maintains business

relationships with corporate partners. Ensures sponsored events are

coordinated.
Quality Assurance


Ensures the quality and accuracy of all marketing communications by

submitting for review to appropriate entities, and making the necessary

changes.
Meeting Attendance


Attends or visits various events or meetings that involve obtaining

support for the program, keeping abreast of current issues, etc.   
Communication


Interfaces with students, faculty, alumni, professionals,

administrators, etc.
Technical Support


Provides technical support for the program by performing varying

tasks as deemed necessary by the current situation. 
Administrative.
Administrative duties to include but not limited

to serving as event contact, and maintains event files.
As Needed. 
Performs various duties and works on

special projects as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the

position.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations,

Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
Experience: 
18 months experience in communications.
Equivalent/ Substitution:  
Will accept 48 months of experience in a related Communications field lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferences:  
Excellent

writing and oral communications skills. 
Ability to multitask.
Works well with

limited supervision.
