The PR Intern is the first level role in Public Relations at Laughlin Constable. PR Interns provide administrative and customer service support to the public relations team, account executives, and client services managers. They assist in the day-to-day administration of marketing, public relations and advertising initiatives to attract potential customers and retain existing ones for the agency’s clients. This includes maintaining a high level of awareness with client activities, detail-oriented program and project management and professional communication with key client contacts as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting in the coordinating and executing of PR campaigns
Researching and drafting press materials
Daily media monitoring
Maintaining the details of core account programs and updates via databases & trackers
Working closely with team members to keep account activity on track and moving forward
Participating in PR planning and brainstorm sessions
Flexibility and availability in schedule to accommodate client and special events, news drops, crisis situations and more
Works under direct supervision of PR leadership and in partnership with entire PR team
Works collaboratively with an integrated team
More complex problems escalated to more experienced team members or managers
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Social media savvy
Eagerness to learn
Drive to succeed
Attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office, with the ability to learn new computer skills quickly
Experience in video news storytelling or interest and ability to learn it
Knowledge of Cision, Adobe, Keynote, Meltwater and Final Cut Pro is a plus
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Near completion or a Bachelor’s Degree required
Relevant area of study may include: Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Policy, Political Science, Liberal Arts or similar
Prior internships, volunteer roles or project work related to media, PR, promotions and/or public affairs
