Job Overview: Are you a Financial Communications and Media Relations expert looking for an opportunity to work with an established brand in a fast-paced, rapidly changing industry? Macy's is currently looking for a Corporate Communications Coordinator who will focus on the Company's financial communications and issues management, working in close partnership with the Corporate Finance, Investor Relations and Legal teams. You will play a critical role in communicating financial and business information, both strategy and results. Perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be energetic, highly motivated and organized, conscientious and detail-oriented - a self-starter who takes initiative in executing big ideas and solving problems. This position will be based in New York City and will report into the Vice President of Corporate Communications, Financial Communications. Essential Functions: The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and executing effective plans to support company goals and major initiatives. These include: • Support Macy's financial communications strategy including research, business media relations, and issues management. • Create daily media reports and monitor the news. • Help with corporate and media announcements focused on business-related subjects such as earnings, primary business strategies and organizational changes. • Help develop the company's annual report, news releases, corporate website and CSR report. • Support Manager and VP of Corporate Communications in creating all media-related executive materials. • Update media/key contact lists. • Coordinate team meetings, calls, etc. • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality Qualifications: Education/Experience: • 0-2 years of professional experience at a public relations or communications agency required. • BA/BS in communications- or finance-related field required. Communication Skills: • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal (communications plans, press materials, executive messaging/presentations including presentation experience in front of groups of various sizes). Reasoning Ability: • Must have exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple high priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Strong project management experience. • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working as part of a team. • Must be self-motivated and outcome oriented. Physical Demands: • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking. • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time. • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. • May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
