Since our start in 1997, we have continually evolved to meet the needs of our authors. Thousands of projects later (and with over 35 New York Times and Wall Street Journal best sellers), our award-winning editorial and design, robust marketing, innovative branding and expert distribution capabilities have led to partnerships with some of the greatest thought leaders, media brands, and independent authors from around the world. What You Will Do: Increase company brand awareness and author inquiries through media and industry outreach Monitor and develop metrics around effectiveness of biz dev efforts Create and foster relationships with industry partners and pursue opportunities for referral partnerships Oversee and develop articles, case studies, and other content as needed Secure media coverage using the company’s industry experts Pitch and schedule company representatives for speaking opportunities Oversee the team working to engage potential authors, publishers, and booksellers via social media, info calls, and submission handling Oversee the development, production, and dissemination of company marketing materials Oversee and participate as needed in trade shows and company events Research emerging industry trends and new author service opportunities What we offer: A fun, vibrant and dynamic office environment (casual dress, company-sponsored outings, etc.) Competitive salary. What we need from you: Ability to gain a quick and thorough understanding of our industry positioning and strategic goals An ability to take initiative, develop creative new business development ideas, evaluate results and pivot on a plan as needed. A creative and strategic mind 3-5 years of corporate communications, business development, or public relations experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with content development and social media management Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete many time-sensitive directives in an accurate, efficient, and collaborative manner. A genuine interest in books, big ideas, and the publishing industry. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Minimum Bachelor’s degree. An excellent sense of humor. You will need to be resourceful, adaptable and open to new challenges. You must have reliable transportation. An immediate availability.
