Description Weber Shandwick Chicago\u2019s Healthcare team is looking for an intern (who must be available to start in February\/March) for a 16 week program. No healthcare experience is needed, but an interest in the field is preferable. Strong candidates are those that have an interest in or basic pulse on what\u2019s going on in the healthcare space from consumer health to pharmaceuticals. Our mission is tied to one goal - winning for our clients. The Internship at Weber Shandwick is intended to provide a true learning experience to combine healthcare, science and communications expertise. Interns assist our public relations practitioner, healthcare and scientific communications experts with day to day duties including research, writing, coordinating PR programs, compiling media lists, monitoring for new stories and participation in creative sessions. Responsibilities: \u00b7 Monitor and interpret scientific or consumer health research \u00b7 Develop strategic media lists \u00b7 Conduct research literature reviews utilizing various resources \u00b7 Track media hits and maintain trackers \u00b7 Attend weekly team meetings \u00b7 Participate in healthcare related brainstorms \u00b7 Provide regular updates to supervisors on projects Qualifications Essential Skills: \u00b7 Project Management: Ability to handle a fast paced, often demanding environment, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks \u00b7 Communication Skills: Proficiency in writing and editing \u00b7 Thinking Skills: Ability to think creatively \u00b7 Social Media Skills: Working knowledge of online\/digital media platforms (Facebook, Twitter etc.) \u00b7 Technical and Functional Expertise: Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook \u00b7 Interpersonal Skills: Capability to adapt to and work in a team \u00b7 Healthcare Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in the healthcare field Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity\/Affirmative Action employer.
