Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Under limited direction, responsible for the strategic planning of admissions processes and enforcement of policies and procedures related to the admission of students. Performs other duties as assigned. The Director of Admissions is a senior level position with responsibilities to perform management duties for the Admissions Division of the Office of Student and Academic Support Services. Individual reports to the Dean of Student and Academic Support Services.
Develop recruitment plans and goals through collaboration with academic program leaders, division leaders and administration.
Utilize admission data for decision-making, produce reports as requested, and maintain records and files.
Develop and maintain clear and comprehensive communication plan and letter flow that spans every stage of the recruitment funnel.
Collaborate with Marketing on the design and timing of promotional literature and display materials for admissions recruiting.
Maintain and promote relationships with service area high school partners through College Connections program including assistance with applications, financial aid, scholarships, and dual credit.
Assist in development of coordinated financial aid, advisement, and registration processes for new students.
Oversee the dual credit program including faculty approval, hiring, development, and pay, course set-up, student registration, and secondary district contracts.
Oversee the timely and accurate processing of students to the college from the point of initial contact through enrollment.
Oversee the coordination and assessment of the campus visit program including weekly tours, preview days, and career exploration visits.
Oversee front desk coverage for the student services office.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate admissions advisors, processing staff, and student workers.
The preceding duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed. Participate in student recruitment, selection, and admission, and make admission recommendations. Establish operational policies and procedures. Manage time and resources, prioritize workload and supervise staff.
Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting. There is frequent sitting, with walking, standing and stooping occasionally required. There is an occasional need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Business principles involved in recruiting, coordination of people and resources, marketing and customer service. Recruiting guidelines, diversity and student dynamics. Special event coordination and off campus recruitment fairs. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent required, Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or similar, preferred. Five years' experience in business management, recruiting or college admissions. Experience in admissions, dual credit, and enrollment management of community colleges will be strongly preferred.
