The User Experience Specialist will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing user-related research. * Design, conduct, and analyze user-related research. * Translate research into actionable deliverables * Advocate for the end user by influencing design decisions and ensure product alignment with user needs and expectations. * Facilitate dialog around end-user requirements and business requirements * Design engaging user experiences based on a deeper understanding of users' needs and the company's strategic business objectives. * Research UX technology trends. * Serve as a UX consultant to external departments as needed. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Communications -- Applicant must possess excellent graphic communications skills. The applicant must be able to positively and professionally interact with all levels of Management and co-workers in order to create strong working relationships. Applicant must write and speak effectively, clearly, and concisely, listen to others, respond professionally to feedback, and ask questions to ensure understanding. * Initiative/Follow-Through -- Applicant must be self-motivated and be able to work independently with minimal supervision, must be able to work as a team member in a continuous improvement environment, and must possess the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects in different stages with a sense of urgency and efficiency. * Creativity: The applicant must possess the ability to create novel solutions, make constructive suggestions, adapt established methods for new uses, and pursue creative strategies. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Education or related field is required. * This would be an entry level position but industry or professional experience in the form of internships or co-ops would be beneficial. * Understanding of Lean UX principles. * Work with users to define requirements, identify needs, and validate designs. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong client-facing presentation skills. * Desire to lead others. * Must be able to take regular feedback and work with a multitude of teams and departments. * Proven communicator with an intellectual understanding of the UX Process that can work within a highly collaborative team. * Working knowledge of Photoship, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, and associated design tools is a plus. * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. * Minimal travel is expected in this position.
