PR Consultant Jobs description

A public relations consultant is a professional who handles the gamut of PR-related activities for a company, assisting the PR manager in establishing the company's image. He/she will support the marketing team in creating new promotional policies and organizing events. The PR consultant will be fully involved in internal communications, as well in communications with external media. The PR consultant is accountable for projecting a good image of the organization to the public, media, employees, vendors, and customers.

PR consultants must keep informed about new market developments and customer requirements. They conceptualize and implement innovative ideas to meet business objectives and to increase the given company’s customer base. PR consultants also oversee the coordination and organization of events, workshops, conferences, etc. In addition to all of the foregoing, PR consultants assist in website content management and the development of articles, press releases, etc.

A candidate who wants to obtain a PR consultant position should have a bachelor's degree in public relations or marketing. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience at a public relations agency or in marketing is also favorable. Strong networking, writing, and speaking skills are a must.
